What is a Sandwich Steel?

Also known as San Mai in Japan, a sandwich steel is the superposition of at least three layers of steel. In the centre, a high hardness steel and on both sides, a more resilient grade to allow your knife blade to take advantage of each other's properties.
This carbon sandwich steel consists of a 100C6 carbon steel core with a hardness of 59 HRC after hardening caught between two layers of more malleable and resilient S235 steel. This steel can be used in the manufacture of all types of blades.
