The latest addition to the Baker Forge Damascus range is Dark Mai.
We already offer you the Coppermascus version of this pattern, it now comes in the form of CuShim: a sheet of copper on each side of a central core in 80Crv2 , shading the deep black of the steel.
Obtained using an innovative fusion-welding method developed by Baker Forge & Tools, CuShim - Dark Mai has proved to be extremely resistant after undergoing a battery of tests.
It's an ironclad solidity matched only by its understated beauty.
Etching Baker Forge's CuShim - DarkMai
DarkMai steel by Baker Forge is unique. That's why the Gator Piss treatment is a perfect match for this exceptional grade.
This treatment will give the piece its full dimension by etching the different layers of material, their colours and contrasts.
The special feature of Baker Forge alloys is that they combine soft materials with extremely hard steels.

We offer the CuShim - DarkMai in two distinct gauges, specially designed to facilitate the work of knifemakers:
- 30 x 3 mm bars, designed more for small blades;
- 60 x 3 mm sections, for series production or larger projects (kitchen knives, for example).
All Baker Forge Damascus steels are supplied annealed and ground. Sold by the centimetre, we cut the section of your choice on request.
