Cubitron™ II abrasive belts are the result of continuous research into innovation by 3M™ laboratories for ever more effective gains in function.
The abrasive consists of triangular profiled aluminium oxide ceramic grains in closed powder, calibrated and oriented by an electrostatic process, the cutting speed is exceptional and the heating of the material worked considerably reduced.

The aluminium oxide ceramic abrasive grains are perfectly calibrated, uniform in size and precisely shaped for a consistent surface finish on the hardest materials and metals.
The ceramic grit provides a clean, crisp cut, unlike conventional abrasives that work by ripping and removing material, thanks to a triangular profile and forward orientation using electrostatic technology.
The risk of discolouration and heat stress cracking is considerably reduced due to the cool operating temperature caused by the fragmentation of the grit during use and the continuous build-up of sharp edges.
The cutting speed is thus considerably increased.

A very strong polyester fabric backing Y (X rigid).
Composed of a closed powder coating of aluminium oxide ceramic abrasive bonded by a high performance resin to a tough rigid polyester cloth backing, 3M Ceramic Cubitron™ ABRASIVE BELTS are joined by a high strength Film-Lok type joint and can be used both dry and wet.

Cubitron™ II 3M™ ceramic abrasive belts are typically used on medium to high pressure cutlery backstands for processing the hardest metals and materials.
From the most perfect finishing of metal surfaces to the grinding of weld seams, these belts will also allow knifemakers to achieve a balanced and even grind on their knife blades. The risk of excessive heating of the thinner parts is eliminated thanks to their cutting qualities and practically cool operating temperature.
The hardest materials such as stainless steel, carbon or cobalt-chromium can be worked easily with perfect results.
