• One X20Cr13 (420) heat-treated spring

• X6Cr17(430) stainless steel rods to assemble your folding Laguiole knives

• A steel corkscrew

Professional materials. 

The HOME BLADE KNIFE KIT - LAGUIOLE By Eurotechni is composed of ready-to-assemble elements made of the same materials as those used by professionals knifemaker, a guarantee of solidity and longevity.

The blade is made of 12c27M stainless steel from the world famous Swedish manufacturer Sandvik. It is tempered following an adapted heat treatment process that increases its hardness, resistance to external aggressions and oxidation. Finally, this treatment guarantees the blade a high cutting power after sharpening.

The liners, the frame of your Laguiole knife, are made of stainless steel X6Cr17 (430), a steel that allows to keep flexibility and resistance. The bolsters, typical of Laguiole knives, are made of the same steel and are welded to the plates.

The spring and the corkscrew of your HOME BLADE - LAGUIOLE KNIFE KIT are made of stainless steel X20Cr13 (420), a steel that allows a good flexibility in all circumstances. The spring has undergone a special hardening process that gives it the flexibility necessary to open and close the blade without the risk of breaking. Naturally, the famous bee is present, carefully welded on the spring.

The rods, made of stainless steel X6Cr17 (430), are to be cut during the assembly of your HOME BLADE - LAGUIOLE COUTELLERY KIT to a sufficient length to allow the final fixing of the set (see the included assembly instructions or our video tutorial). Made of the same stainless steel as the liners, the rods will be perfectly invisible on the bolsters of your Laguiole knife after a meticulous polishing.

Warning: the rod used for the blade axis (the shortest one) is slightly larger in diameter than the other rods. Do not use other rods (the longer ones) for the blade assembly.

However, be careful not to let it sit in water or put it in the dishwasher and remember to wipe it thoroughly after each use: if the steels are rigorously selected for their resistance to oxidation, the materials chosen for the handle could suffer irreversible damage.

Laguiole, a name, a legend.

Laguiole is a name well known to all, cutlers, collectors and knife lovers. Since the end of the 18th century, the town has been cultivating the cutlery tradition with its characteristic shaped models, adorned with their famous bee, first affixed to the Laguiole spring by Jules Calmels in 1909.
