Thermic TO19R, quenching oil for knifemaking.
Thermic TO19R, developed by Motul, is a quenching oil particularly suitable for the knifemaking industry. Thermic TO19R is a cold, accelerated hardening oil, used in particular for the heat treatment of parts made of alloyed and relatively alloyed steels, which is suitable for all steel grades. Thermic TO19R quenching oil will quickly find its place in the knifemaker's workshop, thanks to its many advantages:
- It reduces the risks of deformation and tapping during hardening ;
- It resists perfectly to thermal shocks thanks to its additives ;
- It significantly reduces the calefaction rate.
Thermic TO19R oil must be heated to about 40°C before use.
To obtain good quenching lines (hamon) on high carbon steels without alloying elements, we recommend the use of highly accelerated INO235 oil, also developed by Motul.
