This natural Pyrenean SHARPENING STONE with an oval cross section is very practical for sharpening all types of blades.
Its semi-hard quality and "cradled" finish give it a grained appearance. This multi-purpose stone has a strong grip and therefore excellent efficiency.

Naturally homogeneous when extracted, the natural semi-hard Pyrenean SHARPENING STONE is polished under water in two different finishes: smooth or "cradled" (grainy). The "Aiguise-tout" sharpening stone from the Pyrenees has a "cradled" finish, which is obtained by balancing it in a bath of clear water and gravel for about 1.5 hours. This naturally gives it a grainy appearance and a strong aggressiveness on the metal.
It can be used dry but also with water for a less aggressive contact on the metal of the blades.

This natural stone from the Pyrenees can be used dry or with water for a less aggressive contact with the material to be sharpened, thus giving a remarkable edge to your knife blades and garden tools.
No particular maintenance is necessary except, from time to time, and when regular use leaves metallic deposits, brushing with hot water and a little soap or washing-up liquid followed by a meticulous rinsing.
