A SHARPENING STONE made of natural Pyrenean sandstone for sharpening scythe blades, garden tools and even knives.

This natural stone from the Pyrenees has always been known for sharpening scythe blades.
With a semi-hard quality, it will also sharpen all the edges of your garden tools and will be very effective even for sharpening your knife blades.

Perfectly homogeneous natural stones from the Pyrenees.

Naturally homogeneous when extracted, the semi-hard natural sharpening stones are polished under water. The "LA SAURAT" sharpening stone is laser marked, a guarantee of authenticity, and delivered in its individual wooden box.
It can be used dry but also with water for a softer contact with the metal of the blades.

A sandstone quarry in the heart of the Pyrenees, on land steeped in history.

In the heart of the Cathar country, a few blocks from the legendary castle of Montségur and the "Citadels of Vertigo", in the immediate vicinity of the extraordinary caves of Tarascon-sur-Ariège, which retain all their mysteries, the last French quarry still in operation produces this SHARPENING STONE according to ancestral methods in the purest craft tradition.
The natural SHARPENING STONE is composed of a shale sandstone of exceptional mineralogical purity and grain fineness. The stones are shaped and finished on site using traditional methods.

Easy to use and easy to maintain.

This natural stone from the Pyrenees can be used dry or with water for a less aggressive contact with the material to be sharpened. A few passes will give a remarkable sharpness to your knife blades and garden tools.
No particular maintenance is necessary except, when regular use leaves metallic deposits, brushing with hot water and a little soap or washing-up liquid, followed by a meticulous rinsing.
