Natural SHARPENING STONES for carpenters', cabinetmakers' or sculptors' gouge chisels.

These natural stones from the Pyrenees have been used for centuries for the fine and precise manual sharpening of the blades of curved tools used by carpenters, cabinetmakers and sculptors.

Very soft and homogeneous natural stones from the Pyrenees.

Naturally soft and homogeneous when extracted, natural Pyrenean SHARPENING STONES are polished under water to give them a smooth finish with a grain size equivalent to approximately P1000 according to the European FEPA standard.
They can be used dry but also with water or oil for an even softer contact with the metal of the blades in order to obtain an exceptional edge.

An ancestral sandstone quarry in the heart of the Pyrenees.

Extracted by hand from the last French quarry in operation, the natural sharpening stones are made of a schistose sandstone of exceptional mineralogical purity and grain fineness. The shaping and finishing of the stones is carried out on site in the greatest tradition of craftsmanship in the manufacture of sharpening stones for knives, carpenters' tools, cabinetmakers and sculptors, garden tools (scythe stones, secators, etc.), as well as for... fish hooks and the manufacture of nail files that are as original as they are effective.

Simple to use and easy to maintain.

Our natural Pyrenean SHARPENING STONES can be used dry or with water or oil for an even softer contact with the material to be sharpened, giving your blades a remarkable edge.
Our natural stones from the Pyrenees do not require any particular maintenance except, from time to time, and when regular use leaves metallic deposits, brushing with hot water and a little washing-up liquid or soap followed by a meticulous rinsing.
