The essentials for the blacksmith's workshop.

In the blacksmith's workshop, tongs and pincers are essential tools for holding workpieces safely.

There is a very wide range of tongs and pincers, as varied as there are blacksmith guilds: blacksmiths, blacksmiths, cutlers, etc. Each of these specialities requires a specialised blacksmith.

Each of these specialities requires the use of Blacksmith's tongs that could be described as "standard", but there are some that are specific to the trades practised and the materials worked on.

The rule of the game is that the blacksmith must be able to ensure a firm hold on the part he is working on, both to work in complete safety and, above all, to ensure the utmost precision in each of his movements.

Eurotechni has selected a range of high-quality Blacksmith's tongs, forged in Germany from solid C35 (XC38) steel for basic use by knife smiths.

Flat-jaw Blacksmith's tongs.

These tongs are the most essential classic accessories in the blacksmith's workshop.

For a good grip and a firm hold on the workpiece, it is advisable to use tongs in proportion to the volume of the workpiece.

In cutlery, forging blades or even bristles may require the use of steel up to 0.315in thick.

These flat-jaw tongs are available in 2 versions:

- 11.81in version for optimal gripping and holding of 0.236in thick parts (Ref. AAPIN534030).

- 15.75in version for optimal gripping and holding of 0.315in thick workpieces (Ref. AAPIN534040).

Blacksmith's tongs with "wolf's mouth" jaws.

Forging has always required the right tools, particularly tongs, to grip workpieces firmly and securely.

Ingenious, practical and skilful, they often forged their own tools for a specific purpose.

Tongs with jaws known as "wolf's mouth" are the result of these needs.

The jaws have a V-shaped groove in their centre, in the direction of the jaws, which makes it possible to hold circular, ovoid bars or any other geometric shape except flat bars, which are better held by appropriate tongs.

Perpendicular to the direction of the jaws, 3 U-shaped grooves hold the bars crosswise with effective power and good stability.

Like the flat-jaw clamps, the "wolf's mouth" clamps are available in two versions for optimum, secure holding of workpieces:

- 11.81in version for optimum gripping and holding of workpieces with a cross-section of 0.236in (Ref. AAPIN538030).

- 15.75in version for optimal gripping and holding of parts with a cross-section of 0.315in (Ref. AAPIN538040).

Whatever version of Blacksmith's tongs you require, don't hesitate to consult our experts for advice or if you need models with higher capacities.
