Takefu Cobalt Special is a super high grade steel of stainless cutting steel that we can recommend with our confidence.
This steel is produced by special milling method which leads crystal grain into microstructural refinement. And it is stainless cutting steel which is furnished with some characteristics, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, grinding efficiency and workability. These characteristics are obtained by adjusting of each element.
This steel contains 1.1% of Carbon (C) and 16% of Chromium (Cr), so it shows unparalleled corrosion resistance. Tungsten (W) addition enhance for resistance to tempering. By adding Molybdenum (Mo) contribute to improvement of corrosion resistance and also the texture of matrix becomes finer by adding Vanadium (V). Cobalt (Co) strengthen matrix and it is effective for decarburization prevention.
In this version, the cobalt special is laminated with 2 outer layers of AISI 410 stainless steel. This (very) low carbon martensitic stainless steel reaches low hardness values after tempering which will give you a perfect combination of cutting edge retention and spine flexibility.
