A melting furnace is a type of furnace mainly used by jewelers and goldsmiths to melt precious metals : gold and solver. It can also prove useful to knifemakers wishing to reuse their gold or silver offcuts, enabling them to cast bolsters or other parts. The KG3 electric melting furnace has been designed and manufactured by the Italian company Prederi Vittorio & Figli, specialized (and renowned!) in the design of heat treatment furnaces for over sixty years.
For remelting gold, silver and copper.
Prederi's KG3 melting furnace has a melting capacity of 3 kilos. It can reach and maintain temperatures of up to 1150°C, making it powerful enough to melt and remelt silver (962°C) and gold (1064°C). Supplied with a thermoregulator, a pair of tongs and a graphite crucible, the KG3 melting furnace comes with a one-year warranty, and is shipped free of charge throughout Europe.
