II- Characteristics
Felt
The natural wool polishing felt comes in different diameters and densities to demorate, polish or luster. They are used in the cunting industry for final polishing and lustring of metal surfaces and composite materials or plastics. The final appearance will be determined by the joint use of one of our polishing pasta available on our site.
- Use: Stainless steels, Steels-Fonts, Chrome-Cobalt, Composite materials, Aluminum, Brass, titanium, precious metals.
- Diameter: Ø40; Ø50; Ø60; Ø70; Ø80; Ø125; Ø150; Ø200; Ø250
- Density: 360; 480; 550; 600; 720 etc. The higher the density, the more hard the felts. As a result, to remove scratches or perfect the appearance of surfaces, high density polishing felts will be used, while for finishing polishing or low density soft polishing felter surfaces will be preferred.
The felts are used with a polishing paste or emerging with fish glue.
Sisal Disc Rope
These rope sisal brushing and polishing discs are composed of braided natural fibers combine the resistance of the sisal and the flexibility of the fiber for accessing the difficult areas of shaped pieces of all metals.
- Use: Stainless steels, Tempered steels, Steels-Fonts, Tungsten carbide, chrome-cobalt, aluminum, brass, titanium, precious metals. -
- Diameter: Ø250; Ø300; Ø350; Ø400 for a thickness of 18mm.
They are always used with a suitable polishing paste, except in the case of a simple brushing.
Sisal / cotton discs
Sisal / cotton discs allow removal of scratch pickups. They exist in version impregnated or not according to your needs.
- Use: Stainless steels, Steels-Fonts, Chrome-Cobalt, Composite materials, Aluminum, Brass, titanium, precious metals.
- Diameter: Ø65; Ø70; Ø90; Ø100; Ø120; Ø150; Ø200; Ø250; Ø300; Ø350; Ø400; Ø500
- Impregnation: Sisal / cotton polishing disks impregnated are even more rigid than classics, they are used for more aggressive operations.
You must not turn more than 1500 t / m.
Cotton discs
Composed of a superposition of 30 to 60 sheets of natural woven cottons are ideal for polishing and polishing.
- Use: steels, strongly alloy steels, stainless steels, refractory steels, alloys, all metals, aluminum, zamak, brass, titanium, chrome, cobalt, plastics, resins, precious metals.
- Diameter: Ø80; Ø100; Ø120; Ø150; Ø200; Ø250; Ø300; Ø350; Ø400; Ø500
- Stiffness: 1, 3, 4, or 5 seams and a disc searched at 10. The cotton 1 cotton disc is the softest, if you are looking for more rigidity we recommend a disk with several seams.
- Finish: Simple or ventilated (natural or impregnated). Use our cotton discs with a polishing paste suitable for the operation and the expected result.
Remember 1 disk = 1 paste, do not do any mix.
Flannel discs
The flannel is used for finishing, wiping and glaring operations, to obtain a sparkling result.
- Use: All metals, aluminum, zamak, brass, titanium, chrome, cobalt, plastics, resins, precious metals.
- Diameter: Ø100; Ø120; Ø150; Ø200; Ø250; Ø300; Ø350
- Finish: Classic or ventilated. These discs can be used with or without polishing pulp.
III- USE
Most discs are used with a polishing paste, again, it will depend on the desired result. After mounting your disc / support, you must coat it with polishing paste and adapt your rotation speed. I hope this guide will allow you to effectively choose the polishing disk you need. And above all do not forget the golden rule a disk = a dough.
