Summinagashi VG10 sandwich steel consists of a VG10 central core covered on each side by 33 non-soaking stainless steel layers that will provide flexibility and ductility to blades made in this material.
The stainless steel layers are composed of two different shades in the purest Japanese tradition of manufacture of leaders where the constant search for exceptional cutting blade goes hand in hand with remarkable aesthetic qualities.
Thus, Summinagashi VG10 steel will be very popular in creating chef and cooking knives, but also for any other fixed blade knife.
After emoting, the blade reveals the contrasts of the 66 stainless steel layers on the VG10 stainless steel core constituting the exceptional edge of the blade.
To amplify contrasts, Japanese cutlers use a revelation process similar to that of Damascus steel using acid or / and microbage. This treatment highlights the stainless steel layers to highlight a pattern made of winding lines or straight lines with the tightening (see details in the data sheet). Others will prefer a learned hammer that will give a totally different but equally spectacular appearance to the blades.
Whatever the technique adopted, Summinagashi VG10 steel guarantees blades of exceptional quality combined with a rare aesthetic, worthy of the country of the sun-Levant.
