Discover Eurotechni’s Waterjet Cutting Service
Waterjet cutting — as the name suggests — relies on a high-pressure stream of water to cut materials with extreme precision. Behind this impressive technology lies a machine capable of cutting virtually any type of material.
In most cases, waterjet cutting operates using a mixture of water (up to 3,000 bar / 43,500 psi) and abrasive media to ensure high-performance cutting across a wide range of materials. Because this process generates no heat (cold cutting process), it is perfectly suited for materials such as G10, Micarta, Paperstone, carbon fiber, stone, and even titanium for your knife handles and liner plates.
Waterjet cutting allows for extremely tight tolerances and perfect repeatability — making it an ideal solution for production runs in the knife-making industry, saving you valuable time.
No matter the size of your batch — from just a few pieces to several hundred — we are open to all projects.
A Waterjet Cutting Service Tailored to Your Needs
Eurotechni offers a custom waterjet cutting service for your knife components, based strictly on your technical drawings. Your specifications will be followed precisely.
Do you already have your own material? You can ship it to us, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Don’t have material on hand? No problem. We maintain stock in a wide range of composite materials, including carbon fiber, G10, Micarta, Richlite, and Paperstone.
Using waterjet cutting in knifemaking offers significant advantages, especially for artisans:
Eliminates harmful dust generated during manual cutting (particularly with composite materials)
Reduces wear on your tools caused by abrasive materials
Saves time on low value-added tasks
Allows you to focus on what truly matters: craftsmanship and finishing
- Get in touch with us by email or by phone.
- Send us your part drawings (hand sketch, JPEG or PDF format — or a .DXF file).
- Please specify the type of material to be cut and whether you would like to purchase it from our stock or ship your own material to us.
- We take care of the cutting, packaging, and shipping!
What Is the Principle Behind Waterjet Cutting?
A waterjet cutting machine uses water pressurized to over 3,450 bar (50,000 psi). This ultra-high-pressure water stream enters a mixing chamber at extremely high velocity. The speed of the water creates a vacuum effect (Venturi effect), which draws abrasive particles into the stream.
This high-velocity mixture of water and abrasive then travels through a mixing tube (or focusing tube). Inside this tube, the water and abrasive are combined into a high-speed slurry, which becomes the actual cutting tool.
The mixing tube focuses this high-velocity abrasive jet onto the material to be cut. The process removes material through erosion, which results in a precise and clean cut.
Because this is a cold cutting process, no heat-affected zone (HAZ) is created, preserving the mechanical and structural properties of the material.
