CPM 3V is a high-tenacity, wear-resistant tool steel produced by powder metallurgy - which also guarantees near-perfect purity. This grade, developed by the American company Crucible, has been specially designed to offer maximum resistance to fracture and spalling. A top-of-the-range grade for the most demanding applications! After analysis and testing, CPM 3V offers even greater impact resistance than D2 and Cru-Wear steels, thanks in particular to its high Vanadium content. With a chromium content of 7.5%, it can also be considered semi-inoxidizable, as its corrosion resistance is satisfactory.
Water-jet cut steel bars.
Our CPM 3V steel bars are cut using a water-jet cutting machine. This cutting process guarantees very straight bars, greatly limiting the risk of deformation (bending).
How to successfuly harden and temper the CPM 3V ?
As CPM 3V is a high-end steel, heat treatment can be a tricky business. You'll find all the temperatures, holding times and recommended treatments in its technical data sheet, which can be freely consulted and downloaded from our website.
