Brown stabilized masur birch blocks for cutlery.

Masur birch, also called Karelian birch (from the name of a region in Finland), usually grows in cold countries from Northern Europe to Russia. Its very pronounced grain, with its contrasting meanders and delicate flecks, makes it the wood of choice for veneer and joinery in the broadest sense. By extension, its noble appearance makes it very popular with knifemakers, adding even more elegance to an art knife. It will compliment Damascus steel blades and other noble steel knives.

Stabilized and brown stained masur birch, ideal for art knives

Our masur birch blocks have been stained brown during the stabilization process, further accentuating their very special grain. Warmer in appearance than the classic off-white karelian birch, it will look great on a hunting or outdoor knife handle, as well as on a folding knife with a Damascus steel blade.
