RWL34 and PMC27, aesthetics and technique.
Damacore DC21R is a concentrate of all Damasteel's know-how. The central core of this exceptional steel is made of RWL34, a high-end stainless steel produced by powder metallurgy, renowned for its many qualities: hardness, ductility, edge retention, corrosion resistance... In short, everything that a demanding cutler can look for! This central core of RWL34 is surrounded, on the flanks, by successive layers of RWL34 and PMC27, the latter also being designed by powder metallurgy. This combination results in an exceptional Damascus steel grade, to be reserved for knife makers who want to work only with the best materials available.

Unlike the Damacore DC18N, whose central core of N11X steel darkens considerably during the etching process, the central core of the Damacore DC21R is made of RWL34, which keeps its light gray color during the etching. Regardless of the solution used (hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, iron perchloride), Damacore DC21R will give striking results, which will be further enhanced by a final mirror polish. For truly unique pieces!
