SISAL POLISHING DISCS Rope G are made of natural braided fibers and combine the strength of sisal with the flexibility of fibre to access difficult areas of all-metal shaped parts.
Natural fibres from Mexican Agave.
Known for hundreds of years for the properties of its leaf fibers, Agave, a fatty plant native to Mexico, has been widely used for rope-making. Today, most often replaced by polypropylene for ropes and twine, Sisal fibers (named after the Mexican port from which the processed Agave fibers left) are used in the manufacture of polishing discs but also in several other craft areas.
SISAL POLISHING DISCS Rope G from 250 to 400 mm in diameter.
Available in diameters from 250 to 400 mm for a thickness of 18 mm, the SISAL POLISHING DISCS Rope G are firmly held by metal clips with a bore of 80 or 130 mm and are generally mounted with flanges on a workshop reel.
For a quality result and safe use, it is strongly recommended to wear personal protective equipment and to respect the maximum recommended rotation speeds.
Use with our polishing pastes and materials.
SISAL POLISHING DISCS Rope G can be used on all types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, whatever the shape of the workpiece. However, they will be particularly appreciated in the manufacture of knives for polishing shaped parts, and especially in hard-to-reach areas.
SISAL CORDE G DISCS should always be used with a suitable polishing paste, except in the case of simple brushing.
To choose a polishing paste according to the materials to be treated and the desired result, you can consult the blog of our partner SPAP Soucille, specialist since 1962 in abrasives and polishing products, in particular for the manufacture of cutlery.
To reinforce the adhesion of the polishing paste on the disc and to avoid too much paste loss, it can be slightly impregnated with tallow.
