The "L'IDEALE" sharpening stone has been designed for demanding users who want to go from rough sharpening to a perfect finish with just one tool.
After a first sharpening of the grained side, you just have to turn the stone over to finish with the smooth side.
A double treatment for a mixed SHARPENING STONE.
This double-sided SHARPENING STONE in natural Pyrenean sandstone has received a first finishing treatment called "bercée" (mechanical rocking for about 1h30 in a tub of water with gravel), then a smooth finish by polishing under water with an abrasive belt.
This double treatment makes it possible to obtain a mixed stone, one side of which is grained for a good grip and the other very smooth for a perfect finish and a remarkable edge.

Naturally homogeneous when extracted, the natural stones of the Pyrenees are composed of a schistose sandstone of exceptional mineralogical purity and grain fineness. The shaping and finishing of the stones are carried out on site according to traditional ancestral methods.
It can be used dry but also with water for a less aggressive contact on the metal of the blades.

Easy to use and easy to maintain.
No particular maintenance is necessary except, from time to time, and when regular use leaves traces of metallic deposits, brushing with hot water and a little soap or washing-up liquid followed by a meticulous rinsing.
