Nitrobe 77, stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance and edge strength.
The very specific composition of the Nitrobe 77 gives it an outstanding combination of corrosion resistance and edge retention. It makes it an ideal grade for diving and hunting knives for which these characteristics are really important. It can also be used to make kitchen knives as it is absolutely dish washer safe.
Extremely fine, clean and homogenous structure thanks to a very high nitrogen content (0.9%) and a RSP production process.
During the hardening process, nitrogen replaces carbon as martensite intiator. It upgrades significantly the corrosion resistance of the steel - also reinforced by the presence of 14.5% of chromium. The final product results in a unique combination of edge strength and corrosion resistance.
