14C28N steel richly deserves its reputation for quality gained over the years by Alleima (formerly known as Sandvik), a Swedish manufacturer of world-renowned steel. It has excellent Return of Experience (RETEX) which makes it an ideal choice for the manufacture of outdoor and tactical knife blades.
Stainless steel endorsed by commando units:
In France, some of the most famous commando units are equipped with Alleima 14C28N steel blade knives
What does Alleima 14C28N steel bring to a knife?
This steel has been designed to guarantee the essential cutting parameters first and foremost: exceptional cutting edge, cutting resistance and sharpening ease. The fineness of the grain of this steel, due to the presence of manganese, also protects it from cracks and fissures which lead to corrosion by penetration of water into its structure. 14C28N stainless steel has all the essential qualities for the production of blades for field and tactical knives: bushcraft, outdoor, fishing, hunting, extreme sports, etc.
Stainless steel, with residual stresses, that recovers very well:
The sheet metals of 4 mm thickness of this steel type can have a slightly curved look. This does not alter the quality or performance of 14C28N steel, which is an excellent steel that can be easily straightened during production.
